The Frame Estimator represents the first stage of the sales process. The Estimator is responsible to review, calculate and process a high volume of very technical and sometimes complex frame quotes daily, within a specified timeframe.
The position requires a highly motivated individual with an aptitude for learning and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced and upbeat office environment. Daily interaction with Territory Manager’s, Territory Account Managers, and light communication with customers will be required. Must have a high computer proficiency. Multiple estimating software programs are utilized with training provided. Professional attitude, good math skills, and attention to detail are necessary.
Collaborate with Sales team to determine and recommend the appropriate product selections for projects as necessary.
Interpreting requirements and special instructions from the Territory Managers and Territory Account Managers and implementing them into the estimate.
Ability to read and understand construction specifications and project scopes, including customer blueprint drawings
Determine if there are any issues, concerns or problems within the customer job requests and resolve the issues as they arise.
Produce formal quotations using Microsoft Office D365 & CE, V-6, Alfak, Excel and other TGP estimating software systems.
Use price configuration information to calculate and draft estimates generally within 24 hours.
Ability to analyze cost outputs for errors
Be able to present and support conclusions to the sales team behind each estimate when required
Ensure back-up documentation for quotes are properly saved and filed. Maintain an excellent working knowledge of TGP Frame Systems and all TGP’s products and troubleshoot and fix problems and issues as they arise.
The functions, procedures and processes of this position warrant close contact with co-workers and peers daily and require a flexible congenial personality working together and assisting others in a highly team-oriented atmosphere.
TGP will provide Product and Software training where required.
Education & Certifications:
High School diploma or equivalent
Four years of computer proficiency.
Estimating or Construction Industry experience (preferred)
Skills & Abilities:
Product knowledge from a technical and performance standpoint, involving fire-rated glazing, vertical and horizontal framing systems and channel glass applications is required.
Good mathematical skills, attention to detail and accuracy a must due to the nature of this high-end product analysis.
Ability to work with TGP’s price structure configuration system and various software platforms for efficient and accurate quote generation.
Good organizational and time management skills to successfully handle and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously with personal and other glass estimator’s workloads.
High degree of self-motivation and the ability to prioritize daily workload based on customer requests and demands, and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Ability to prepare formal quotations in a fast paced and dynamic atmosphere with motivation, commitment, pride in work striving for positive results.
Strong team orientation, flexibility, and the ability to establish and maintain professional and effective working relationships with all departments and customers, a must.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Self-assurance and assertiveness in supporting and presenting conclusions is helpful.

Impact: The accurate, time sensitive, high quality detailed documentation of the formal quotation process produced by this employee will determine the success of pricing and first step of the sales success.
Working Conditions: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to use a computer and keyboard for extended periods of time each day. The employee is also required to use a telephone should the opportunity arises to conduct business. In addition, the individual handling this job must be able to work under pressure and deadlines and must perform well under stress handling multiple concurrent tasks, read, and comprehend the material given to them. They must be able to write, trouble- shoot and problem solve where required and lift and move up to 20 pounds. Job requires a 40-hr work week with occasional overtime where required.
