Staff Accountant
$60k to $75k
HO Sports Company, LLC is looking for a Staff Accountant to join our talented team to deliver high quality service to both internal and external customers. As part of a growing company that is focused on providing outstanding products with exceptional customer service, you’ll have the opportunity to expand your skills and discover your potential. This position will provide support to various areas of the Accounting Department and company, as well as, work with competing duties and deadlines requiring an ability to prioritize and maintain professionalism. The ideal candidate for the role is a highly motivated and proactive individual who is comfortable working within a fast paced, dynamic and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
•Maintains a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.
•Ensures an accurate and timely month-end and quarter-end close. Assists the Controller in preparing for year-end close, meriting a timely reporting of all monthly financial information.
•Prepares timely general ledger entries and account reconciliation.
•Assists in gathering data for budget preparation and assists in the preparation and monitoring of budgets.
•Monitors and analyzes department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
•Develops and implements accounting policies and procedures with emphasis on internal controls.
•Gathers and prepares audit data for various audits as required.
•Tracks and maintains fixed asset records.
•Prepares a variety of financial accounting reports as required.
•Provides department heads with financial information when requested.
•Advises staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions.
•Back-up for AR and AP as needed.
•Responsible for the retention of records relating to the finance department.
•Calculates a wide variety of data, including royalties, rider contract payments, Commissions and B&O taxes, etc.
•Supports the Controller with special project work as needed.
Minimum requirements:
•BA or BS, preferably in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field
•3 - 5 years of progressive accounting experience
•High level of PC skills and Advanced Excel skills
•Detail oriented and accurate with numbers and the presentation of accounting data
•Ability to multi-task and work under pressure
•Organized and able to meet deadlines
•Excellent analytical, critical thinking, creativity, and problem solving ability
•Strong communication skills, initiative and interpersonal skills
•Team player who likes wearing multiple hats
•Experience with Microsoft D365 favored
