CAMP COOK - BAKER
The job of the Camp Cook Baker helps serve lunch, dinner and other assigned meal shifts; supervises and instructs food service personnel in the safe, proper and efficient use of equipment and food preparation; determines the quantity of food and the size of the servings to be prepared daily; supervises the daily cleaning of the kitchen equipment; and accepts the responsibility of the Camp Kitchen Lead Person in his/her absence.

• Supervise and instruct food services personnel in the safe, proper and efficient use of all kitchen
equipment and the food preparation for dinner and other assigned meals.
• Help serve lunch, dinner and other assigned meals.
• Determine the quantities of each food to be prepared daily.
• Determine the size of serving to meet the necessary requirements.
• Prepare food according to the Camp menu and determine if the finished product is of best quality both
in flavor and appearance before it is served.
• Oversee the locking of the storeroom and help maintain a correct monthly inventory.
• Report immediately to the Camp Waskowitz Site Director any problem or accident occurring in the
kitchen or the cafeteria premises.
• Supervise the daily cleaning of all kitchen equipment and the washing and sterilizing of all dishes,
silverware, and utensils.
• Accept the responsibilities and duties of the Camp Kitchen Lead Person in his/her absence.

• Perform such other duties and assume such other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Camp
Kitchen Lead Person or Director of Camp Waskowitz.
• Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective
functioning of the work unit and supporting student-learning objectives.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid Food Handler's Permit, health certificate and all other certificates, licenses, endorsements and permits as
required for this position by state and local authorities
Food and Nutrition Service workers are required to wear all appropriate safety protection devices when using
Paid work experience in quantity food preparation and use/care of institutional food service equipment
Supervision of employees in food service industry
CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT:
Pass a post hire, pre-employment physical assessment test
Criminal background clearance
All certificates, licenses, endorsements, permits, and vaccines (absent exemption) as required for this position by
state and local authorities
Food preparation; use and care of institutional foodservice equipment
School board policies and procedures
Adjust recipes to needed quantity
Perform the daily duties needed to operate camp kitchen as assigned by the Camp Kitchen Lead Person
Supervise and maintain good relationships with employees and students
Demonstrate exceptional attendance and punctuality
Communicate effectively verbally and in writing
Attend to detail and follow tasks through to completion
Organize and set priorities
Comply with school board policies and follow administrative procedures
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Reports to Camp Kitchen Lead Person
EVALUATION: The Camp Cook Baker will be evaluated by the Director of Camp Waskowitz or designee
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly required to stand/walk, bend neck and back,
use hands for repetitive grasping and fine manipulation. The employee frequently is required to use hands to, squat, kneel, lift/carry, and push/pull. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb stairs/ladder reach/lift
overhead. The employee must constantly lift/carry up to 10 pounds. The employee must frequently lift/carry
up to 20 pounds. The employee must occasionally lift/carry a maximum of 40 pounds. The employee is required
to push/pull a maximum force of 10 pounds. Anything over the weight limits should be done as a two-person lift
or with a mechanical lift.
