Daycare Assistant Teacher

Job Overview:
Chickadee Daycare is seeking a motivated and caring individual to join our team as a Daycare Assistant Teacher. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the lead teacher in creating a positive and engaging learning environment for young children. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to contribute to the educational and emotional well-being of children in their formative years.

Responsibilities:

Assist Lead Teacher: Work collaboratively with the lead teacher to implement age-appropriate curriculum and activities that promote cognitive, social, and emotional development.

Supervise Children: Ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times, both indoors and outdoors. Monitor and engage with children during playtime, meals, and rest periods.

Maintain Clean and Safe Environment: Contribute to maintaining a clean, organized, and safe daycare environment. Assist in setting up and cleaning activity areas, as well as ensuring hygiene practices are followed.

Communicate with Parents: Establish positive communication with parents and guardians. Provide updates on children's activities, development, and any concerns that may arise.

Support Daily Operations: Assist in daily tasks such as meal preparation, diaper changing, and transitions between activities. Contribute to creating a positive and inclusive atmosphere for children.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent; Early Childhood Education coursework preferred.
Prior experience working with young children in a daycare or preschool setting.
Knowledge of age-appropriate developmental milestones.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
