Donor Engagement Associate

Full-Time, 40 Hours per Week

 
LOCATION: Child Development Center, Snoqualmie, WA + Hybrid

SCOPE: This position reports to the Director of Development and focuses on securing and growing philanthropic support from individual and organizational donors who are passionate about early childhood development. The Donor Engagement Associate is responsible for developing strategies and the supporting systems for donor acquisition, solicitation, and stewardship at all giving levels. This position will work closely with special events including fundraising and cultivation efforts as a key strategy in the engagement of new supporters and the deepening of individual commitments to the success of our mission and the wellbeing of children and families in our community.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•In support of the strategic plan and in partnership with the Director of Development:
•establish annual goals, strategies and activities to ensure the continual growth and expansion of all donor giving segments, including individuals and organizations.
•develop, implement and lead the individual and organization giving program with a clearly defined and personalized stewardship process for donors at all levels. This includes a focus on donor acquisition, renewal and upgrade strategies.
•Working with the Events Specialist, contribute to the special fundraising and cultivation event goals and activities that integrate guests fully into a donor stewardship cycle.
•Utilizing donor data, development metrics, and giving trends, identify the opportunities to expand donor engagement and financial success with the correlating budgeted resources needed to meet new annual goals.
•Steward and support the leaders responsible for the cultivation and solicitation of major donors with annual portfolios. This includes the creation of personalized donor goals and the tracking of their portfolio status.
•Manage a portfolio of 60+ current and prospective major donors.
•Expand the use of Raisers Edge as a tool and a data resource for all development and communication planning activities; and help design the coding necessary for this to be successful.
•Provide support and guidance to the Board Engagement Committee as requested by the Director of Development. This could include providing written or verbal reports, attending meetings, or collaborating on presentation materials.
•Regularly monitor progress toward fundraising goals and other key benchmarks, provide regular progress reports, and lead course correction efforts to ensure fundraising goals are met.
•Serve as a representative for Encompass at various meetings, events, and speaking engagements.
•Collaborate effectively with all members of the Development team and be a key contributor to creating and sustaining a culture of excellence and high performance.
•Manage the training for and accuracy of all gift processing and data entry processes and conventions within Raisers Edge.

•Work with Finance to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of monthly donation reconciliation.
•Commit to the exploration and an evolving understanding of Community‐Centric Fundraising practices and work to integrate the values of equity and social justice in everything we do in support of our mission.
•Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS and SKILLS
•Minimum three years, preferred five to seven years, of successful experience in managing fund development programs.
•Demonstrated ability to cultivate and solicit major gifts of $5K+
•Clear and comprehensive understanding of best practices in donor‐centric fundraising and moves management.
•Strong strategic thinking skills and the ability to develop effective engagement and solicitation strategies for a diverse group of individual donors.
•Knowledge of best practices in donor stewardship and experience in developing high‐impact, cost-effective stewardship approaches.
•Excellent relationship‐building skills and the ability to understand the needs and interests of donors. Well‐developed listening skills and the desire to hear people’s stories.
•Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing about the impact of Encompass on the lives of children and families.
•Strong organization and time management skills. Ability to manage multiple deadlines and complete projects on time.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION
• Bachelor’s Degree or Associate Degree combined with three to seven years of professional experience in the field.
• Certified Fundraising Executive Certification

CERTIFICATION AND LICENSES
•Current Washington State Driver’s License

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Work is conducted in a typical office environment. Must be available to attend meetings, functions, and events after normal business hours. Extended standing may be required. Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
