DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS


Salary range: $87,865 - $140,585, depending on years of experience
Location: Encompass Early Learning Center, North Bend, WA
Schedule: Full-time, exempt

SCOPE: The Director of Operations is responsible for the successful operations of the organization including human resources, administration and support services, facilities, and information systems. The Director of Operations is responsible for determining needs and priorities for facility/space planning, scheduling and improvements, technology and software solutions and other shared resources and ensures organizational alignment with mission and values. The Director of Operations serves as a member of the Senior Leadership Team and reports to the Executive Director.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Human Resource Management (25-35%)
Provide supervision to Human Resources Manager, ensuring the HR systems optimally support Encompass staff by:
Providing comprehensive human resource management for staff, including recruitment, hiring, onboarding, performance management, compensation and benefits, staff relations, and training and development.
Foster an organizational culture across board and staff that is open to new ideas, innovation, and thought leadership, based on trust, cohesion, and collaboration.
Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, guidelines, and standards.
Ensure the personnel policies and practices are equitable, legally compliant and serve the interests of both the organization and the individual.
Lead Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Belonging and Accessibility planning and efforts.
Ensure long-range human resource strategic planning and implementation.

Administration (15- 25%)
Manage administrative support staff as assigned.
Develop and implement services, policies, practices, and systems to increase organizational effectiveness that reinforces a collaborative, efficient and supportive work environment.
Ensure and support agency wide HIPAA compliance.
Ensure Health and Safety protocols are followed – serve as lead for Health and Safety Committee.

Facilities (25%)
Provide management of facilities support services and contracts to ensure that all building systems are monitored, maintained, and upgraded as required.
Lead or support investments in capital growth and infrastructure.

Information Systems (15 - 25%)
Provide supervision and management of IT staff and contractors, ensuring that IT systems optimally support the work of Encompass staff.
Ensure that IT services provide high quality customer service and technology solutions that support organizational goals of efficiency, effectiveness, ease of use and affordability.
Provide oversight for the monitoring, maintenance and procurement of all information technology systems, hardware, and software.
Provide oversight of technology-related documentation, training, and classes.
Ensure data is being collected and distributed as per the current data management plan.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Required education/experience:
Bachelor’s degree in business related field plus additional leadership training.
Five years’ experience in administration or operations management.
Demonstrated progressively responsible experience in managing and leading.

Required skills:
Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills. Must be able to communicate clearly and proactively to all levels of the organization as well as externally.
Must have the ability to effectively manage all stages of projects.
Must have the ability to develop goals, objectives, action plans and track progress.
Understanding of and demonstrated ability to use systems thinking in planning and problem solving.
Must have advanced technical skills: proficiency with Microsoft Office suite as well as ability to understand and work with various software products used in the organization. Currently software is utilized for Project Management, Fund Development, Human Resources and Payroll, Electronic Medical Records, Finance Management, Client payments and enrollment in programs, and communications with external stakeholders.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to lift twenty pounds overhead safely.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Must possess reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
Must provide current proof of insurance on personal vehicle at each renewal date.
Available to attend meetings, functions, and events after normal business hours on occasion.
