In this role, you’ll play a vital part in supporting our quality control/assurance and research and development efforts as well as managing and maintaining our in-house lab. Chemist / Lab Technician
Part- to Full-Time
This position provides testing support for the development and ongoing production of semio-chemicals and control release lures. This role supports product development including tasks such as: quantitative and qualitative analysis of bulk attractants and lures using a gas chromatograph, chemical residue analysis of test lures, and general laboratory management.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Organize and maintain the in-house laboratory.
•Operate and maintain a gas chromatograph.
•Generate standards & control samples and develop & refine testing methods.
•Provide quality assurance/control for all attractant-based products.
•Organize and manage retained samples.
•Provide testing support for USDA/APHIS based research.
•Support documentation associated with product specifications & user manuals.
QUALIFICATIONS:
•BS degree (or higher) in Chemistry.
•Experience with running and maintaining a gas chromatograph.
•Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
•Strong written and verbal communications skills.
•Motivated by learning new skills and assuming new responsibilities.
•Ability to work independently in an efficient timely fashion.
•Must be legally allowed to work in the U.S.
PREFERRED ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE:
•Prefer 1+ year work experience in a QC/QA lab or complementary role including internships.
•Experience running and maintaining a Shimadzu GC-2010 Gas Chromatograph & LabSolutions LC/GC Software or equivalents.
•Experience with acrylic polymers.
•Experience in working/supporting PhDs and researchers.
•Familiarity with environmental test equipment.
