Mechanical Engineer I

These advanced technology products are used around the world in hundreds of applications including in aerospace & defense, motorsports racing, automotive testing, airborne, sea and land image stabilization and other markets.
We are currently seeking a full time Mechanical Engineer I to join our team at our Snoqualmie, Washington location. Our ideal candidate will be a technical hands-on engineer with the ability to work well in a highly motivated team environment. Our work environment is fast-paced and requires team members to have technical aptitude and be detail-oriented, to learn quickly and have organizational skills, but most importantly to have a positive attitude and enjoy their job and their peers.

POSITION SUMMARY:
This entry-level position provides design and testing support for the development and ongoing production of advanced MEMS inertial sensors (accelerometers, gyros) and associated systems (IMU & INS/GPS products.) This role supports product development including tasks such as: requirements capture; mechanical concepts; component selection; system packaging of sensors and other electronics; finite element analysis of systems, environmental testing of systems, and production support of test fixtures. Collaborates with other engineering disciplines for sensor design, system packaging and test engineering for calibration and testing of current and future products.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Perform mechanical engineering design, analysis, and testing in support of new product development efforts.
•Develops project plans and generates detailed product documentation.
•Performs component/product qualification and other test validation initiatives.
•Performs quantitative analysis on inertial system performance test data.
•Identifies data-driven improvements for products and methods.
•Performs troubleshooting of new and legacy products.
•Provides technical support for various customer activities.
•Provides technical support for manufacturing to resolve problems and optimize product yield and throughput.
•Supports documentation associated with specifications, user manuals, and production assembly guides per AS9100D / ISO 9001:2008.

QUALIFICATIONS:
•BS degree (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or related Engineering discipline from an accredited educational institution.
•Strong computer, physics and math skills required.
•CSWA SolidWorks Certified
•Programming experience with one or more tools such as: MATLAB, LabVIEW, Python, C/C++, C#, Git.
•Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
•Strong written and verbal communication skills.
•Motivated by learning new skills and assuming new responsibilities.
•Must be legally allowed to work in the U.S. and considered as a “U.S. person” as defined by ITAR and EAR regulations. (see below for further details)

PREFERRED ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE:
•Prefer 1+ year work experience in a technical or complementary role including internships.
•Competency in mechanical design including design, fabrication, assembly, and testing
•Capability with SolidWorks at CSWA or beyond
•Hands-on project or work experience with electronics systems, preferable motion systems
•Familiarity with environmental test equipment such as ovens, rate tables, and vibration machines.
