Mobility Specialist - Volunteer Transportation 

(Community Van Program)

$23.40/hour with full benefits


Location: Snoqualmie Valley & Redmond, WA
Work schedule: Full Time 40 hours/week, Hybrid with some in-person, some remote.

The career opportunity:
Hopelink’s Mobility Management team empowers people to change their lives by facilitating access to the community. We do this by (1) providing travel education and resources to build awareness of existing transportation options; (2) supporting the coordination of special needs transportation through cross-sector collaborations; and (3) gathering data and needs assessment to recommend and implement improved services. We work to make it easier for all people to get around King County through innovative, collaborative problem-solving.

This position will assist the Mobility Team and project partners in the development and implementation of King County Metro's Community Van Program, offered in partnership with Hopelink Mobility Management, which currently serves Snoqualmie Valley, Redmond, and Shoreline/Lake Forest Park. The ideal candidate will be resourceful, self-motivated, and possess a passion and interest in making an impact in the local community. •Experience working in customer service.
•Experience working with volunteers.
•Experience with community outreach and engagement.
•Experience with social media platforms, Mailchimp, and/or previous marketing engagement.
•Residing in or knowledge of Snoqualmie Valley is highly desired.
•Collaborative and team player.
•Communication, collaboration, and community engagement skills.
•Experience working with target populations such as people with disabilities, older adults, veterans, limited English speakers, refugees and immigrants, and lower-income individuals desired.
•Ability to travel throughout King County and Snoqualmie Valley by car. Currently, 40-50% of time is spent traveling in Snoqualmie Valley, Redmond, Shoreline/LFP, and the greater King County region, with more time spent traveling in Snoqualmie Valley than other jurisdictions. Travel may be required 3-4 times per week. Mileage is reimbursed, travel is during work hours.
•A valid Washington State driver's license, personal automobile liability insurance, and a clean driving record is required.

Examples of what you will be doing:
•Provide staff support for Community Van programs throughout Hopelink’s jurisdictions, which currently include Snoqualmie Valley, Redmond, and Shoreline/Lake Forest Park.
•Serve as the initial point of contact for all potential clients and volunteer drivers, communicating through several channels, such as email, phone, text, and social media; coordinating trip requests; and connecting riders with volunteer drivers.
•Coordinate scheduling, marketing, and conducting outreach around King County to facilitate more opportunities for clients to learn about Community Van and other transportation resources, including attending local events, partnering with organizations, presenting to groups virtually and in-person, and participating in volunteer recruitment. This may include evening and weekend events (paid time.)
•Distribute transportation materials such as brochures, schedules, maps, and fare payment methods. Create and revise program materials to meet target client and partner needs.
•Develop new ideas and coordinate social media and newsletter posts to market the program.
•Manage Community Van trip, driver, and rider databases.

How you will be compensated: Hopelink is proud to provide meaningful paid time away from work and an affordable, comprehensive benefits package.
•Compensation: $23.40/hour
•Up to 10 paid vacation and sick days annually and 10 paid holidays,
•Plus up to 7 paid float days available to use immediately; dependent on hire date and hours/week
