GASP Content Strategist

The GASP Content Strategist develops compelling content strategies, creates content (illustration, graphic design, etc.) across various digital and print platforms, and supports coordination for Governmental Affairs and Special Projects (GASP) outreach and communication activities with a focus on incorporating Snoqualmie Tribal Culture, especially as it relates to Snoqualmie rights. The GASP Content Strategist will focus on external public content creation including contributing to writing and creating the content designs, coordination, and storytelling, and will serve an integral role in the Snoqualmie Tribe Ancestral Lands Movement and other outreach initiatives and projects managed by the GASP department.


Essential Duties:

Plan, draft, create (through illustration, graphic design, etc.), and share educational content and materials on platforms including social media, websites, storytelling tools for the Snoqualmie tribe ancestral lands movement, and other outreach initiatives and projects managed by the GASP department.
Design (through illustration, graphic design, etc.), prepare, implement, and publicize communications, materials, and processes for external outreach and educational projects.
Collect information and data to best inform content development strategies and outreach project implementation.
Maintain archive of images, photos, or previous work products.
Coordinate with and report to the GASP Outreach Program Manager to collect information from tribal staff in the tribal departments including GASP, Archaeology and Historic Preservation, Environmental and Natural Resources, and other relevant departments on all matters related to outreach content in the GASP tower.
Support the Snoqualmie Tribe Ancestral Lands Movement and other projects in the GASP Tower team.
Coordinate and participate in in-person outreach initiatives and events, which may require attending local and regional meetings, festivals, and events after normal working hours.
Audit and manage assets to identify content gaps, content voice, and improve accessibility of content for team members and external public.
Support content creation for public outreach programs, conservation programs, and for external events such as local festivals and other volunteer events.
Identify opportunities for content optimization and expansion across different channels.
Ensure all content aligns with voice, messaging guidelines, and is reviewed by GASP team members.
Craft engaging headlines, taglines, and calls-to-action to drive audience engagement and education.
Additional Duties:

Develop content calendars and schedules to ensure timely delivery of assets.
Creatively produce multimedia content that enhances storytelling and visual appeal (through illustration, graphic design, etc.).
Edit and proofread content to maintain quality, consistency, and accuracy.
Illustration and other design and art skills are required for content creation.
Monitor assigned tasks from GASP Outreach Program Manager.
Maintain confidentiality and communicate with tact and discretion.

Requirements
Ability to create strategies for outreach and educational content and resources including but not limited to copywriting, illustration, and other art and design skills and tools.
Ability to work effectively in a self-disciplined ethical and professional manner with limited supervision.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective outreach planning and community engagement with the ability to collaborate effectively.
Skills for prioritizing tasks, projects, and demands.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations.
Proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
Creative thinker with the ability to generate innovative ideas and solutions.
Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Education & Experience:

Education Required:

A bachelor’s degree in art, visual design, or a similar field is required; a commensurate number of years’ experience with graphic design in a professional work environment may substitute for a bachelor’s degree.
Education Preferred

Additional education in environmental education or writing is preferred.
Experience Required:

At least 2 years of experience with art and/or design for exceptional content (including illustration, graphic design, etc.) and implementation on online platforms and print materials.
At least 1 year in content strategy development and some copywriting, preferably for public outreach and environmental education initiatives.
Experience Preferred:

Working with or for tribal governments.
Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud applications.
Experience related to art and design (such as illustration, graphic design, etc.), communications, tourism or recreation strongly preferred.
Other Requirements:

Must be able to pass a thorough pre-employment background investigation.
Must agree to be subject to the Tribe's Controlled Substance and Alcohol Testing Policy to include pre-employment screening.
Portfolio showcasing a diverse range of content creation, design, and writing samples across different platforms.
Work Environment:

Work generally takes place in an office environment within a controlled atmosphere building. Noise levels are typically low to moderate. Remote or hybrid work arrangements may be possible in accordance with the Tribe’s Telecommuting Policy. Weekend and evening hours will sometimes be required.

Additional Information:

This is a full-time hourly position and employment is at-will.
Compensation will be determined based on experience, starting at $25.81 per hour.
