MSW or Licensed Counselor

$38 to $45 Hour


Trail Youth is dedicated to empowering youth aged 13-21 in the Valley. With the help of Mike Rowe (Returning the Favor), we have established a unique coffee shop that serves as more than just a place for refreshments. It's a sanctuary where young individuals can cultivate essential life skills in a supportive environment free from societal labels. Position Overview: We are seeking a passionate and empathetic Licensed Counselor or MSW (Master of Social Work) to join our dynamic team. This is an extraordinary opportunity to make a meaningful impact by providing essential support to young individuals facing various challenges. As the first counselor in our organization, you will play a pivotal role in guiding and empowering our youth to overcome obstacles and develop into resilient, valuable members of society.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group counseling sessions to youth aged 13-21, addressing a wide range of social, emotional, and behavioral issues.
  • Collaborate with our team to develop personalized treatment plans tailored to each youth's unique needs and goals.
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify strengths, challenges, and areas for growth.
  • Offer guidance and support to youth in developing coping strategies, building resilience, and enhancing their self-esteem.
  • Advocate for the holistic well-being of youth by coordinating with external resources and support networks as needed.
  • Foster a safe and inclusive environment within the coffee shop setting, promoting positive interactions and relationships among youth.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) or related field from an accredited institution.
  • Current licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or equivalent license/certification in counseling.
  • Experience working with adolescents and young adults in a counseling or therapeutic capacity is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of trauma-informed care, adolescent development, and evidence-based therapeutic techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to establish rapport and trust with youth from diverse backgrounds.
  • Commitment to upholding ethical standards and maintaining confidentiality in all interactions.
